Uganda has been ranked the 3rd best country to do business from in the East African Block according to the “Doing Business organization” a group of Worls Bank, the most trusted organization in ranking countries which are better to business from. Among the things considered included Starting a Business, Dealing with Construction Permits, Getting Electricity, Registering Property, Getting Credit, Protecting Minority Investors, Paying Taxes, Trading Across Borders, Enforcing Contracts, Resolving Insolvency
Uganda came third in the Eastern Africa block, just after Rwanda and Kenya. Ethiopia, Tanzania Sudan and Republic of Congo followed while South Sudan and Eritrea were the last on the list.
Singapore, New Zealand, Denmark, Korea Rep., Hong Kong SAR of China, United Kingdom, United States, Sweden, Norway and Finland took the positions 1 to 10 respectively while South Sudan, Lybia and Eritrea ranked the last with positions 187, 188 and 189 respectively.
No African country ranked in the top 30. Mauritius was the first African country on the list and it made it to number 32.
